Advancing AR in Education
November 2024
Welcome to our second edition of the CARS Project EU newsletter! These past 6 months have been packed with exciting advancements, from new tutorials to in-person training. Let’s take a look at the highlights:
Video Tutorials 1 & 2 Launched
June 2024
We kicked off our video tutorial series in June, helping educators and creators master AR authoring. These tutorials cover everything from setting up your workspace in ZapWorks to creating interactive AR experiences.
Tutorial 1 focuses on the basics, teaching users how to set up projects, manage assets, and publish captivating AR stories.
Tutorial 2 builds on this foundation, exploring how to transform static storyboards into dynamic AR experiences with animations, quizzes, and interactive features.
Final Video Tutorial and LearnHub Launch
July 2024
July was a pivotal month with the release of the final video tutorial and the launch of our LearnHub platform.
Final Tutorial: This session dives deep into selecting and using digital assets for AR, offering insights into choosing the best resources for images, 3D models, and audio to enrich AR experiences.
We also introduced LearnHub, a web-based platform designed to support teachers with resources, instructional videos, and forums to enhance their AR skills. Start exploring today!
Why AR Matters in Education
August 2024
With the summer break in full swing, August was a quieter month for the CARS Project. This gave us time to reflect on the powerful role of AR in education, transforming lessons into engaging, interactive experiences that boost learning and motivation.
Preparations for Teacher Training in Spain
September 2024
As we geared up for our teacher training sessions in Burgos, Spain, preparations were in full swing. Our partners at the University of Burgos and Colegio Aurelio Gómez Escolar worked hard to create an immersive experience for educators, equipping them with the skills to bring AR storytelling into their classrooms.
AR’s ability to boost student engagement and motivation was also highlighted, showing how interactive lessons can transform traditional learning.
Teacher Training in Burgos
October 2024
In October, we held an intensive three-day teacher training session in Burgos. Teachers from Malta, Spain, and Cyprus gathered to explore the pedagogical and technical aspects of using AR in language learning.
Day 1: Hands-on workshops on AR basics and project setup.
Day 2: Advanced sessions on integrating 3D models and multimedia.
Day 3: Media appearances and reflections, including the “Burgos on the Air” podcast.
This training provided educators with practical strategies and tools to empower students as AR storytellers.
