Our learning platform is now live!
Welcome to the third edition of the CARS Project EU newsletter! With our vision steadily becoming reality, the past few months have seen AR storytelling move from concept to classroom - empowering educators and students alike through hands-on experiences, training, and innovative teaching practices. Here's what we've been up to:
In December, teachers at Dimotiko Scholeio Agias Napas-Antoni Tsokkou wrapped up their AR training as part of the CARS Project EU. The sessions provided educators with hands-on experience in designing classroom activities where students could write and transform stories into AR narratives.
The team also shared warm holiday wishes, reflecting on a year of growth, collaboration, and new beginnings in AR-enhanced education.
As we entered a new year, the CARS Project EU took time to look back on an incredible journey. From our project launch and website debut to teacher training events and the first AR pilots in schools, 2024 was packed with impactful milestones.
This post highlights our achievements across Europe and sets the stage for what’s ahead in 2025: with new tools, lessons, and implementations on the horizon.
February saw students across Malta beginning to bring their stories to life through Augmented Reality. Following months of preparation and training, AR was implemented in the classroom with encouraging results.
A detailed update kindly provided by Dr. Jacqueline Żammit shared insights from classroom observations, highlighting student motivation, language engagement, and creative expression.
March was a productive month across the consortium. Pilots concluded successfully in Cyprus, teachers in Spain presented the project at an international seminar, and feedback from national agencies recognised the quality and impact of the CARS Project EU so far.
Behind the scenes, important data collection and reporting tasks moved forward—ensuring the project remains on track for the months ahead.
With pilots underway and classroom stories taking shape, we shared tips on how to export and share your AR stories using ZapWorks. From QR codes to direct links, the post walks you through making your stories easily accessible for students.
It’s a practical look into how teachers can smoothly integrate AR content into the school day, supporting creative and collaborative learning.
In May, the CARS Project EU spotlighted an inspiring professional development session led by Dr. Ing. Lawrence Farrugia Caruana at St. Catherine’s High School. This training introduced educators to practical applications of Augmented Reality (AR) in various subjects, with teachers exploring hands-on AR tools and discussing how to integrate them into their own classrooms.
Behind the scenes, the project also entered a crucial evaluation phase. Partners have been actively analysing feedback from classroom implementation, setting the stage for data-driven insights on the pedagogical benefits of AR storytelling.
