A Month of Dissemination and Dialogue
March 2026
Our learning platform is now live!
March 2026
March was a particularly active and exciting month for the CARS Project EU, marked by multiple dissemination events and conference presentations that helped share the project’s progress, results, and educational value with wider audiences in Malta, Cyprus, and beyond.
A key highlight of the month was Multiplier Event 1, held at the National Literacy Agency in Malta. During this event, Dr Jacqueline Żammit, Dr Inġ. Lawrence Farrugia Caruana, and Prof. Leonard Busuttil, joined by Ms Heather McNamara, presented the Erasmus+ project Children as Creators of Augmented Reality Stories (CARS).
The session explored how constructionist learning and Augmented Reality can empower students to become active creators of their own stories, while also sharing project outcomes and experiences from the Maltese implementation. It was a valuable opportunity to showcase how AR can transform storytelling and language learning in the classroom, while opening up discussion around creative, student-centred pedagogy.

Later in the month, the project was also presented to educators, Education Officers, and Heads of Department from the Digital Literacy Centre. During this second multiplier event, Dr Jacqueline Żammit, Dr Inġ. Lawrence Farrugia Caruana, and Prof. Leonard Busuttil, joined by Mr David John Attard, shared insights into the implementation of the CARS project in Malta.
The presentations highlighted how children engaged creatively with the Maltese language by developing their own augmented reality stories, demonstrating an inspiring blend of technology, imagination, and innovation in the Maltese language. Attendees showed strong engagement throughout, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering innovative, technology-enhanced learning experiences in Maltese classrooms.

March also saw the CARS Project EU featured in an international academic context through its presentation at INTED2026. The project was presented under the title “Augmented Reality Storytelling in Primary Education: Insights from the Cyprus Implementation of the CARS Project” as part of the Innovative Educational Technologies track and Technology Enhanced Learning session.
This presentation provided an important opportunity to share insights from the Cyprus implementation of the project with an international audience interested in emerging approaches to teaching and learning.
On Saturday, 14 March 2026, CYENS Centre of Excellence also presented results from the classroom implementations carried out in Cyprus during the European STEAME Academies Conference 2026, held at the Aliathon Resort in Paphos, Cyprus.
The presentation highlighted how Augmented Reality was integrated into classroom storytelling activities, showcasing innovative approaches that support creativity, engagement, and interdisciplinary learning within STEAME education. It also shared insights from the Cyprus classroom implementations, demonstrating the potential of immersive technologies to enrich teaching and learning practices.
Taken together, these events made March a significant month for the CARS Project EU. Through multiplier events in Malta and conference presentations in both virtual and in-person settings, the project continued to build visibility and momentum, while reinforcing its core message: that Augmented Reality can be a powerful and creative medium through which children engage with language, storytelling, and learning.
A sincere thank you goes to all educators, students, partners, and attendees who contributed to these successful events and presentations. Their continued support and engagement help ensure that the work of the CARS Project EU reaches and inspires ever wider communities.
